Leo Club of Contai was founded on 14 April 1980 and has a strong, passionate group of 74 active members dedicated to serving the community. The club regularly organizes and participates in diverse programs that reflect the spirit and energy of youth service.

Founded on 14 April 1980, our club was created to inspire young people of Contai to serve their community and grow as responsible leaders. Organized under the International Association of Lions Clubs and sponsored by the Lions Club of Contai.

As an Omega Leo Club (ages 18–30), our members plan and carry out meaningful projects, guided by the spirit of Leadership, Experience and Opportunity. Over the years, our club has actively contributed in health, environment, education, youth development and humanitarian service.

Four decades of service

Key milestones that shaped Leo Club of Contai into the vibrant organization it is today.

1980

Club Founded — 14 April 1980

Leo Club of Contai was established under the sponsorship of Lions Club of Contai, becoming one of the earliest Leo clubs in Purba Medinipur. A group of passionate young people came together with a mission to serve.

1985 – 1995

Foundation Years of Community Service

The club established its core service programs — blood donation camps, tree plantation drives and educational awareness activities that continue to this day.

2000s

Expansion of Youth Programs

Launched youth sports tournaments, cultural programs, and expanded donation drives to reach more families across Contai and surrounding areas.

2010s

Growing Membership & Regional Recognition

Membership grew significantly. The club received recognition for its consistent community contributions and deepened its partnership with Lions Club of Contai.

2024 – Present

Today — 74 Active Members Strong

With 74 dedicated members, Leo Club of Contai continues its legacy of service, leadership and community impact — stronger than ever and ready for the next 45 years.
